Vineyards
We humbly understand that great wine is not just the credit of the winemaker but of the farmer. That is why we thoughtfully select our vineyards with the vineyard manager and their farming methods in mind. We source our grapes from the western hills of Paso Robles, where the unique terroir and coastal influences create the perfect environment for exceptional viticulture. All of our grapes are certified organic and dry farmed, ensuring that our wines are not only of the highest quality but also crafted with environmental integrity. By working closely with local growers, we ensure that each bottle of Landsby Wine reflects the richness and character of this incredible region.

Kirk-Landry Vineyard
Nestled off of Chimney Rock Road, beside the historic Adelaida schoolhouse, Kirk-Landry Vineyard spans an impressive 600 acres of rolling hills in the Adelaida District. With 23 acres of dry-farmed, Certified Organic grapes planted in 2007, this vineyard consistently serves as a core component for our wines.
Located within the Santa Lucia Mountain range, just 14 miles from the Pacific Ocean, the vineyard benefits from cooling coastal breezes and marine influences. The region’s unique terroir, defined by its shallow calcareous soils and an average of 30 inches of rainfall annually, provides the perfect environment for growing grapes that express the full character of this remarkable land.
This beautiful property is farmed by Jimmy Hall, a natural-born farmer who cut his teeth growing coffee in the mountains of Maui. He’s now transplanted to Paso Robles, and we as winemakers are better for it.
Grapes Sourced: Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Grenache
Four-Hearts Vineyard
4-Hearts Vineyard is located at the intersection of Willow Creek Road and Peachy Canyon Road in the Willow Creek District AVA. This steep, picturesque vineyard spans 21 acres of dry-farmed, Certified Organic grapevines. The Willow Creek District is celebrated for its limestone-rich, calcareous soils and the cooling marine influence that sweeps in from the coast. Receiving an average of 24–30 inches of rainfall annually, the vineyard’s proximity—just 12 miles from the ocean—ensures optimal conditions for producing exceptional fruit.
Originally established and cultivated by Steve Crouch, the vineyard transitioned to new stewardship in 2021, with Jimmy Hall taking the helm to continue its legacy of meticulous farming and sustainable practices.

Hawks-Hill Ranch
Hawks Hill Ranch is a beautiful 240 acre ranch located in the Adelaida District AVA. This vineyard embodies West Paso, with steep rolling hills, diverse soil types and vineyard blocks oriented to every cardinal direction.
Situated just off of Adelaida road, the vineyard boasts an impressive elevation change of over 1000 feet contributing to the complexity of the site. Additionally, the vineyard lies approximately 13 miles from the ocean and benefits from the cool coastal breezes. Though not certified (yet), the vines are farmed organically and the property has a full-time herd of sheep that graze throughout the year.
This remarkable property was established and is currently farmed by Kit Kuyper, a commodities trader from Chicago who dove head first into the art of farming. Visitors to Hawks Hill Ranch are likely to see Kit on some form of heavy machinery, managing and maintaining the property!
Grapes Sourced: Syrah
Bailey Vineyard
Bailey Ranch is an incredible property with 39 acres located in the Adelaida District AVA, off of Peachy Canyon Rd. The ranch has 16 acres of vineyards, 20 acres of walnuts and a small orchard of apples and persimmons. All dry-farmed and all Certified Organic since 1996.
Walking through the Bailey Ranch is a bit like being transported back in time, to the early days of grape growing in Paso Robles–a time when farmers grew more than just grapes, relied on nature instead of irrigation, and never imagined a tractor with a cab. The Ranch was established in 1968 by Bruce and Patricia Bailey and is now managed by their son, Dave Bailey. Dave has, quite literally, farmed the land since he was a kid.
Dave is the embodiment of an old-school farmer. Rather than leaning on modern technology or an array of products, he relies on intuition and a profound understanding of the land and its crops. This timeless approach is how Dave grows some of the best grapes around.
